The Challenge

To carry out soda blasting to clean the masonry ,to clean the dressed stone and clean decorative sand stone elements to front elevation of the public library. Also, carry out general stone repair and re pointing limestone joints.

To use the soda blast method and N02 Vortex II Blast Head at 2-3 bar pressure to clean and remove all the moss and remove any loose lime mortar that is pointing to expose damages to the mortar joints in order to allow inspection of repairs.

APT’s Solution

We discussed the job at length with the client surveyor and planned and scheduled the work around the busy opening times of the library.

The soda blasting was carried out at as specified in conjunction with the other the project team and other contractors.
